Incomplete – that is the sentiment flowing through this collection of photographs and poetry. The pictures tell the story of myself growing from boy to man. A visual montage of the changes in my life over the last 20 years. The poetry on the other hand is where the title Incomplete is derived from. Incompleteness is not the theme of the poems within the book but merely conveys that they are incomplete. All the poems inside the book are of incomplete thoughts that I was never able to complete. But I found in the incompleteness of these poems a reflection of me, a reflection of every person I’d see. We’re all incomplete beings on our journeys, but there is always room for improvement in that incompleteness.
In this context Incomplete means that there is more to come. I’m not stuck on any situation or outcome for life is short but also a long one. We’re only completed when our lives are all done, so while you’re breathing, the incompleteness of life should be a positive outcome. I hope to tell a compelling story through “Photoetry” Photography and Poetry in this collection. So with all that said please enjoy my incompleteness in Incomplete.
